Nneka nacio en Nigeria, pero se tralado joven a Hamburgo para estudiar Antropologia y dedicarse al canto.A Actualmente vive a caballo entre los dos paises.

Su musica suena bastante contemporanea y europea aunque nombraAinfluencias de Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, Lauryn Hill y otros raperos actuales.ASu primer disco, publicado en 2005, A"Victim of Truth",A sorprendio por una fusion de elementos occidentales y africanos y estilos como el trip hop, el dub, el soul y el reggaeAhasta los ritmos africanos mas tribales. En el 2008 con el segundo disco, "No longer at ease", la han nombrado como la nueva estrella del soul.

Recientemente ha estrenado disco y emprende una gira desde abril, pasando por paises como Francia, Bruselas, Alemania o ReinoAUnidoAy una actuacion en el festival WOMAD de Caceres, en Espana (8 de mayo 2010).
